Cut from a piece of spalted alder, the face features an incredibly detailed image of a large, windblown beech tree—originally photographed in the northwest of the Shropshire Hills—paired with a skein of geese taking flight across the grain.

The wood has these striking, natural dark lines and unique marbling running through it, which completely changes tone from top to bottom. It naturally looks like a dramatic, overcast sky hanging over the landscape.
