Large Spalted Alder Bowl – 43cm Wide

This is an absolute giant of a bowl. Finding a piece of timber clean and stable enough to turn to a massive 43cm wide is rare enough, but when it’s a piece of spalted alder with this much character, it’s really something special.

The natural marbling across the wood is stunning, with those distinctive, dark ink-like lines winding their way through a warm, honey-colored grain. Because of its wide, shallow shape, it makes the ultimate family-sized salad bowl or a spectacular centerpiece for a dining table or kitchen island. To frame all that wild, natural artwork inside, I’ve turned a crisp, dark accent ring right around the inner rim.

Good to Know

If you're using this as a salad bowl, it's completely ready for food. Just give it a quick wash by hand with warm, soapy water after use and dry it off with a towel straight away—please don't leave it soaking in a wet sink or put it anywhere near a dishwasher. A quick wipe with our wood cream every now and then will keep the timber looking rich and vibrant for years.
