Premium Board Butter

Our board butter made from a blend of fractionated coconut oil, refined hemp seed oil, and beeswax combines deep hydration with a durable, protective, and non-toxic seal. This specific blend offers superior penetration to prevent drying and cracking while utilising plant-based oils that won't go rancid.

Why is it sooo good?

1. Fractionated Coconut Oil (Deep Nourishment & Stability)

Unlike standard plant based oils, fractionated coconut oil has had the long-chain triglycerides removed, making it highly stable.

• Won't Go Rancid: It is refined to prevent spoilage, ensuring the board doesn't develop an odour over time.

• Deep Penetration: It has a low viscosity, allowing it to penetrate deeply into the wood fibres, providing long-lasting hydration that keeps the wood from drying or warping.

• Odourless & Non-Greasy: It leaves no oily residue and doesn't affect the taste of food.

2. Refined Hemp Seed Oil (Protection & Hardening)

Hemp seed oil is a "drying oil," which means it cures when exposed to air, providing a superior layer of protection. 

• Curing Action: As it cures, it polymerises, forming a hard, protective film within the wood grains rather than just sitting on top.

• Water Resistance: It fills the pores, creating a barrier against moisture, which prevents liquids and bacteria from entering.

• Rejuvenation: It brings out the natural color and grain of the wood, restoring old, dry boards.

3. Beeswax (Sealing & Sheen)

Beeswax acts as a barrier sealer that works in tandem with the oils. 

• Moisture Seal: It locks in the oils and seals the surface, acting as a natural, food-safe water repellent.

• Sheen & Protection: It provides a soft, lustrous sheen while filling in tiny knife marks, making the surface smoother and easier to clean.

• Self-Healing: It helps protect the wood fibers, allowing them to better handle repeated, daily use.
